Ever increasing demand of the energy will reach to be doubled by 2050. But limited
source of fossil fuels would not be capable to supply the demand in a sustainable
way. Moreover, the implication of the use of these resources tends to have negative
impacts on the environment. Hence, there is urgent need to develop of utilization of
renewable energy related technologies with affordable cost and increasing the
efficiency existing technologies. Solar energy is one of the best among all the
renewable resources.
The Solar Energy subject is an elective course offered in the department of
Mechanical Engineering.
Students would learn the subject in class room and visiting solar energy relevant set
ups. Students would be evaluated based on their performance in midterm and final
examinations of the subject.
